About Course

Manual Operated Rifle training focuses on the safe, responsible, and effective use of bolt-action and other manually operated rifles through structured instruction and guided practice. The course covers essential firearm safety, correct loading and unloading procedures, shooting fundamentals, and the legal aspects of firearm use, including when you may and may not lawfully act in self-defence. Designed for sporting, hunting, and practical applications, this training builds confidence, accuracy, and disciplined firearm handling. The entry requirement is Unit Standard 119651 – Knowledge of the Firearms Control Act 60/2000, which is a legal requirement for first-time firearm owners.
