About Course

Master the safe handling and operation of self-loading rifles through comprehensive instruction and practical drills. This course covers firearm safety, loading and unloading procedures, shooting fundamentals, and the legal aspects of firearm use, including when you may and may not lawfully act in self-defence. Designed to build precision, control, and disciplined firearm management, the training prepares participants for sporting, tactical, and professional environments. The entry requirement is Unit Standard 119649 – Knowledge of the Firearms Control Act 60/2000, which is a legal requirement for first-time firearm owners.

How It Works
The Basic Self-Loading Rifle course is aligned with Unit Standard 119650 – Handle and use a Self-loading Rifle or Carbine.
The qualification shoot will take place Monday, Friday, and Saturday
Lectures take place Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday
